There is a great
soft-spot in my heart for IL Pescatore. This is
the wine that attempts to advance the ambitiously complicated
program of hetero-cépagism in a world, which,
despite the advent of Mandelbrot*, still finds it difficult
to conceive of white wine that does not come in the uncomplicated
flavors of Sauvignilla and Charcolate.
We draw every asymptotically closer to the platonic ideal
of the Fisherman. This iteration is ever more piscatorially
friendly -- lighter, crisper and more elegant than Peskies
past. The first term that comes to mind is juicy and then
elegant and persistent. A refreshing suggestion of spearmint
in the nose, with subtle nuances of peach and strawberry
with chances of occasional gooseberry. I know that my
boss favors lost causes -- good for us, bad for him --
this is a real winner.
* I am referring to both the chaos theorist
and the almond cookie. The world does grow ever more complex.
