An Illinois man left snowy Chicago for a vacation in warm Florida. His wife happened to be on a business trip and was planning to meet him there the next day. When he reached his hotel room, he decided to send his wife a quick email.
Unfortunately, he mistyped her address, and his note was mistakenly sent to an elderly preacher’s wife whose husband had died the day before. When the grieving widow checked her email, she let out a piercing scream and fainted to the floor. At the sound, her family rushed into the room and saw this note on the screen: Dearest, Just checked in. Everything is ready for your arrival tomorrow. P.S. Sure is hot down here.

イリノイ州の男が、雪の降りしきるシカゴから、温暖なフロリダでの休暇へと旅立った。たまたま出張中だった妻と、翌日休暇先で落ち合うことになっている。ホテルの部屋に到着した彼は、妻に短いEメールを送ることにした。
あいにく彼がアドレスを間違って入力したため、メッセージは牧師の夫を前日に亡くしたばかりの老婦人のもとへ送信されてしまった。悲嘆に暮れつつメールをチェックしていた未亡人は、金切り声を上げて床に倒れ伏した。物音に家族が部屋へと駆け付けると、スクリーンにはこのようなメッセージが映し出されていた。「愛しい妻よ、いま受付を済ませたところだ。おまえが明日到着するための手筈は、準備万端整っている。追伸：こちらはまったくもって灼熱地獄だよ」
