課題

Since ancient times, Mount Fuji has been a place of cultural significance for Japan.
The majestic mountain with an almost perfectly symmetrical cone, is an object of religious pilgrimage and seen as the sacred symbol of the nation.
The beautiful mountain and surrounding landscape has been an inspiration for many great artists and poets.
As the highest mountain in Japan, many Japanese climb to see the sun rise from the top.
Mount Fuji has recently been designated as a World Heritage Site and is an icon of Japan.

訳文

古来より富士山は、日本にとって文化的に重要な場所であった。
ほぼ完全に対称な円錐形を有するこの堂々たる山は、宗教の巡礼における目的地であり、この国の神聖な象徴とみなされている。
この美しい山と周囲の景観は、多くの偉大な芸術家や詩人たちにとって創造力の源であり続けてきた。
日本で最も高い山ということもあり、多くの日本人が頂上から日の出を拝もうとこの山に登る。
最近になって富士山は世界遺産に指定されたが、富士山とは、まさに日本そのものなのである。
