It's time to get ready for early summer gardening! Even if you live in a small city apartment, you can still grow a great urban farm on your balcony. Tomato,kale and cucumbers are great choices to start as they are delicious and easy for beginners to grow. Herbs such as mint, thyme and rosemary are good to prevent insects from attacking your garden. Each vegetable will need direct sunlight, so make sure you don't crowd too many into one planter box. With a creative layout, you can make the most of your limited space and enjoy garden to table food this summer.

初夏にむけてガーデニングの準備をする時期ですね！お住まいが街中の狭いアパートでも、都会の素敵なベランダ菜園ができます。トマト、ケール、キュウリなどは初めてでも育てやすく、おいしいのでお勧めです。ミント、タイム、ローズマリーといったハーブ類は菜園の虫よけに向いています。どの野菜にも直接太陽の光が当たるように、一つのプランターにあまりたくさん植えないように注意しましょう。レイアウトを工夫すれば、かぎられたスペースを有効活用できて、この夏には菜園でとれたものが食卓を彩ることでしょう。
