The three friends had been looking forward to camping together in the Lonely Mountains for many days. Every year they would spend a long weekend together under the stars. The best part of their time together was trying to scare each other with spooky campfire stories.
Fox : OK, can I go? I have a great story to share this year. You will wet yourself with fear!
Ferret : Ha ha. That sounds better than last year’s story about the clumsy graveyard ghosts.
Rabbit: Yeah, I’m looking forward to having a good laugh. Every year you hope to scare us badly – let’s see if you can do it this time.
Fox : Great. So there were these three kids that were hiking in the woods around here...

３びきの なかよしさんたちは さびしんぼうやまで いっしょにキャンプをするひを ながいあいだ たのしみに まっていました。
まいとし ほしがいっぱいの そらのしたで ちょっとながい しゅうまつを いっしょに すごすんです。
キャンプファイアをしながら こわいおはなしをして こわがらせあいっこするんです。これが いちばんの たのしみなんですって。
きつね 「じゃあ わたしからでいい？ ことしは すごいおはなしがあるの。こわくて おもらししちゃうわよ」
フェレット「あっはっはっ きょねんの おはかのおばけのおはなしより ましかもね」
うさぎ「そうね おもしろいと いいなぁ。まいとし わたしたちを すっごく こわがらせたいみたいだけど―― こんかいは どうなるかしら」
きつね「はじめるわよ。このちかくのもりで わたしたち３びきのこどもが ハイキングをしていました……」
