The three friends had been looking forward to camping together in the Lonely Mountains for many days. Every year they would spend a long weekend together under the stars. The best part of their time together was trying to scare each other with spooky campfire stories.
Fox : OK, can I go? I have a great story to share this year. You will wet yourself with fear!
Ferret : Ha ha. That sounds better than last year’s story about the clumsy graveyard ghosts.
Rabbit: Yeah, I’m looking forward to having a good laugh. Every year you hope to scare us badly – let’s see if you can do it this time.
Fox : Great. So there were these three kids that were hiking in the woods around here...

おともだちの３びきは、さみし山でいっしょにキャンプする日をずっと心まちにしていました。まい年 一かい、ながいしゅうまつを ほし空の下で ともにすごすのです。そのじかんで いちばんのたのしみは、たき火をかこみながら きみのわるい はなしをして こわがらせあいっこすることです。
キツネ「じゃあ、いっていい？ ことしは とっておきの はなしがあるんだ。こわすぎて きっと おもらししちゃうよ！」
フェレット「はは。きょ年 はなしてた へんな おはかのゆうれい よりはマシみたいだね」
ウサギ「そうね、おもいっきり わらえるのが たのしみだよ。いつも こわがらせようと がんばっているみたいだけど、こんかいは できるか おてなみ はいけんだ」
キツネ「よし。３びきの子どもがね、このちかくの森でハイキングをしていたんだ…」
