古来より、富士山は日本にとって文化的に重要な場所とされてきました。
どの方角から見てもほぼ完璧に対称的な錐を成す雄大なこの山は、巡礼の目的地であると同時に、国の神聖な象徴であると考えられています。
その美しい山と周辺の景色から、これまで数多くの偉大な芸術家や詩人が着想を得てきました。
また、日本一高い山の頂上から日の出を見ようと、多くの日本人が富士山を登ります。
