College Dormitory Rules

It was the start of a new school year, and the freshman class had just moved into their college dormitory rooms.

The dormitory manager was explaining the consequences for violating the all-male and all-female dormitory policy.

“The female dormitory is off-limits to all males, and the male dormitory is off-limits to all females,” the manager explained. “If you are caught violating this policy, you will be fined $50 the first time. The second violation is $100, and a third violation will be a very expensive penalty of $200,” he continued.

“Are there any questions?” he asked.

At that point, one of the male students inquired, “Can I just buy a season pass?”

新しい学年度が始まったときのこと。新入生のクラスが学生寮の部屋へ移動してきた。
そこでは寮の管理人が、男子寮および女子寮の規則の違反に対する処分について説明しているところだった。
「女子寮は全男子立ち入り禁止です。また、男子寮は全女子立ち入り禁止です。」
管理人は説明し、こう続けた。
「もし、この規則への違反が発覚した場合は、初回は50ドルの罰金です。2回目は100ドルの罰金となり、3回目は200ドルに跳ね上がります。」
「何か質問がある方は？」管理人は尋ねた。
そのとき、男子学生の一人がこう尋ねた。
「だったら俺、いっそのこと女子寮のシーズンパスを買いたいんですけど？」
