A taxi driver was going quickly down a busy street in the city. He passed four stop signs without stopping. He went the wrong way down a one-way street. He passed a police officer while searching on his cell phone for the address of the store he was headed to. And he texted from his cell phone to multiple people before finally arriving at his destination. During his whole trip, however, he didn’t break any laws. How?

タクシー運転手が交通量の多い街なかの通りを急いでいた。彼は一時停止の標識を4カ所無視し、一方通行の通りを逆方向に進んだ。目指している店の住所を携帯電話で調べながら、警官の横を通り過ぎもした。そして携帯から何人かにメッセージを送った後で、ようやく目的地に着いた。しかし、こうして移動していた間、彼は何の法律にも違反していない。どうして？
