課題
Castle Greystone was finally in sight.
After three days of rain, mud, and bad roads, it looked almost beautiful.
“Tell me we're staying there tonight,” said Leo.
“We're not,” Serena replied.
“Tomorrow, then?”
“Nope.”
Leo groaned.
“Why does every quest take us farther away from a proper bed?”
“Because adventurers never choose the easy road.”
“Then adventurers are idiots.”
Serena laughed.
“And yet you're still here.”
Leo opened his mouth to reply.
Then both of them fell silent.
The gates of Castle Greystone were slowly opening.

遂にグレイストーン城が見えてきた。
雨に降られ、泥まみれの悪路を３日も進んだあとでは、
美しいと言っていいほどの姿だ。
「今夜はあそこに泊まるんだよな」とレオは訊いた。
「いいえ」とセレナは返す。
「なら明日か？」
「違うわ」
レオはうめいた。
「なんでどんな冒険でも、まともな寝床にありつけないんだ」
「冒険者というのは楽な道を選ばないものよ」
「なら冒険者ってのはバカなんだな」
セレナは笑った。
「でも今こうして冒険者をやってるじゃない」
レオは言い返そうと口を開いたが、そのまま沈黙が下りた。
グレイストーン城の門がゆっくりと開こうとしていたのだ。
