課題
Castle Greystone was finally in sight.
After three days of rain, mud, and bad roads, it looked almost beautiful.
“Tell me we're staying there tonight,” said Leo.
“We're not,” Serena replied.
“Tomorrow, then?”
“Nope.”
Leo groaned.
“Why does every quest take us farther away from a proper bed?”
“Because adventurers never choose the easy road.”
“Then adventurers are idiots.”
Serena laughed.
“And yet you're still here.”
Leo opened his mouth to reply.
Then both of them fell silent.
The gates of Castle Greystone were slowly opening.

雨や泥、悪路の中を3日間に渡って旅した後では、城は美しいとさえ思えた。
「今夜はあそこに泊まるって言ってくれ」とレオが言った。
「泊まらない」セレナが答えた。
「じゃあ、明日は？」
「ダメ」
レオはうめき声を上げた。
「どうして冒険ってのは毎回、ちゃんとしたベッドからどんどん離れていく羽目になるんだ？」
「冒険者は簡単な道を選ばないから」
「じゃあ、冒険者はバカだな」
セレナは笑った。
「でも、あなたはそれでもここにいるじゃない」
レオは返事をしようとして口を開いた。
そのとき、ふたりは黙り込んだ。
グレイストーン城の門が、ゆっくりと開いていたのだ。
